Having launched in July 2012, The Upfront Project is a weekly night championing the best in forward-thinking electronic music, curated by the team behind London based label and night Audio Doughnuts. Taking place in South London venues The Lightbox and Fire, The Upfront Project will continue to play home to some of the world’s most exciting artists, labels and promoters all under one roof. Already establishing itself as a mainstay of the London nightlife scene, after regularly hitting full capacity, The Upfront Project looks set to cement its popularity with a bill that reads like a who’s who of the current underground electronic music scene.
October and November will see a plethora of electronic talent pass through The Upfront Project including dubstep originator Loefah, techno purveyor Pariah, garage legend MJ Cole, bass music enthusiast Mele and funky house affectionate Funkystepz. With the aim of presenting London with some of the world’s most progressive artists, The Upfront Project works with an array of dynamic promoters such as Vagabondz, Data Transmisson, Regulate, Wavey Tones, Hypercolour’s sub-label Sneaker Social and Soundcrash to ensure electronic music of all genres are covered, from House & Techno to offsets of Hip Hop, and hybrids of Dubstep, Bass, Garage & Funky. The Upfront Project curators Audio Doughnuts are also set to celebrate their 2nd anniversary in style, with house veteran Roy Davies Jnr, Will Saul, Marshall Jefferson, MK and more to play a very special show on November 30th.
Marking itself out from the capital’s over-saturated market, The Upfront Project brings one of the most unique clubbing experiences to London, with an unrivalled emphasis being placed on sound and lighting. Home to the world’s only wrap around wall-to-wall state of the art LED light system, as well as powerful soundsystems and mirror arches, south London venues Lightbox and Fire provide the perfect backdrop for The Upfront Project. With ticket prices hovering around the low-cost £5 mark and drinks starting at £2.50, South London is set to continue to host a fresh and affordable new night.
