An exploration of UK garage, 2-step, four-to-the-floor and today’s bass-led incarnations of the classic sound. Delving deep, deep into the roots of a sound that has shaped so much of today’s bass music, Heritage approaches the classic garage and two-step sound with a quality, depth and vision unlike any other.
Heading up the bill is perhaps the most influential, dominant and diverse UK garage DJ in history – the mighty EZ, sure to bring both party vibes and rare dubs in equal measure.
In their first London set for an incredible 10 years, the original speed garage pioneers Double 99 will be switching the vibe back even further in a special 90-minute set – no doubt including their era-defining garage bass anthem ‘Rip Groove’. Completing a trio of headlining UK garage originators, will be former Tuff Jam don Matt Jam Lamont – once one half of perhaps the most legendary DJ partnership in UKG history, responsible for the definitive, and arguably first classic, garage mix compilation ‘Underground Frequencies Vol. 1′.
In a line-up that covers all corners of the garage spectrum, Multi:ply dons and scene pioneers Scott Garcia (responsible for another early crossover hit in 1997′s It’s A London Thing) and DJ Para (DEA Project) will be dusting down their most underground sounds for a special main room set, while modern house/garage pioneers like the inimitable Mosca and rising London house duo Dusky will be dropping special ‘garage influences’ sets to pay homage to a sound that has informed their own forward-thinking bass cycles.
In true Heritage style, the night’s proceedings will be hosted and toasted by the original UKG MC – Creed – whose rhymes will roll back to distant memories of the Gas Club (RIP) circa 95 – 99 and many classic nights elsewhere beyond.
In the Multi:ply arch, Scott Garcia’s Kronik Music will host Troublesome release party for the track ‘Huckleberry’ with the legendary Sticky, dark 4/4 garage instigator DJ Narrows, Heny G, Rude Boi Brand, Smokey Bubblin B and a special live PAs from Troublesome performing ‘Huckleberry’, as well as Rude Boi Brand & MC Fizzy performing ‘Peak’.
