Now that a possible hamdemic is threatening to bring about the aporkalypse, we’ve beginning to wonder whether those warnings about bacon being bad for us were true. But there was a time when farmyard animals were just fun friendly objects that Banksy could spray paint in the name of art.

Since the early days of hip-hop, street art has gone hand in hand with underground music. Which is why that, now we have a huge outdoor area at The Arches, we’re staging a series of live painting events bringing together the country’s best urban artists kicking off at Chew the Fat! on Friday May 29th.

Taking the Fat! indentity as their starting point, the superb artists SNUB23, Farkfk and ASBOLuv, who are all part of the Grafik Warfare crew, will produce a graphic re-interpretation and create an exclusive piece which will be painted live at the club. We’ll be capturing all the action on video.

Check back the week after, as we’ll then be auctioning these valuable one-off pieces via this blog. They’re totally unique and you have the chance to watch them being created, then own one.

Not only that, but each artist will produce a strictly limited run of t-shirts based on their design which will be launched on the week before the gig and sold on the night, as well as via the blog.
