    Scandanavian vampires, Scandanavian disco

Röyksopp – 64 Position (live) (MediaFire)

    Mental Overdrive – Spooks (MediaFire)

If you haven’t already, go watch Swedish vampire movie ‘Let the Right One In‘ this weekend. Sadly the official trailer doesn’t really capture the pace and tone of the film but it’s all that’s out there.

Essentially a beautiful love story about two social misfits, it’s set against the kind of cold, stark landscape that’s also produced so much glacially cool disco.

The first of the two tracks we’ve posted to highlight this is by the now massive Röyksopp and was released on an old Tellé compilation on Wall of Sound back in 2000. Tellé also first brought the world Annie and Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band. Bascially they rock, so if you like this live jam then buy the album.

The other track I don’t know much about except, as the name suggests, it’s pretty spooky and is from a sampler I picked up a while back in Phonica Records of a Norweigan label called Smalltown Supersounds which you can buy on iTunes.

The film being Swedish and the music from Norway, Scandinavians tend to dislike being called that, rather than our separate nations. :)

Sorry. It was only a spurious pretence for cramming two things into one post. All the Norwegians got it ;)
