Mutant Bass Records is the new digital label run by heavy bass hooligan Kanji Kinetic. It’s first release featured four slabs of discombobulated rave smut from Rrritalin, Submerse, The McMash Clan and Mr Kinetic himself, and set a fairly hefty precedent for future releases. If the perfect indecency of the music isn’t a big enough selling point, then the fact that all Mutant Bass releases are absolutely free should be enough to convince most.
Stepping up for the label’s second release is Blackmass Plastics, a veteran of various scenes and long-time exponent of uncompromising, machine-driven filth. A producer who has constantly evolved his sound, he first made his name as part of the Dead Silence Collective releasing hard-edged DnB and electro, and more recently has focused on mutated dubstep and modern electro sounds with outings on labels such as Rag & Bone and Combat Recordings.
‘Pulsar Pollutions’ sees him take a strictly 4×4 direction, fusing techno and bassline to devastating effect. Download the EP for free here.
