More commonly known for his sonic schizo shuffles in the breakbeat world, Mystic Man is Merka’s hip-hop alter ego. ‘Minds I’ is a beautiful slice of mournful thought-provoking hip-hop complete with a gently weeping guitar. As with any Mark Ford production, it’s warm as toast and well worth checking – the breakers among us, however, should head direct to Merka’s Retrodub rub, a soaring slab of string-laden emotion, it’s one of Merka’s more solemn, sincere moments. Like Hybrid, but without the pomp, this is epic. Check it.
