A little treat for you today as we take a little look back at our 15th birthday celebrations out in Ibiza last month with a recorded set from one of London’s most promising emerging talents, Kiwi, who has been churning out some of the best funk and techno inspired tunes we’ve heard since Tiga‘s second LP, Ciao.
We’ve been keeping a keen eye on the young Alex Warren since the start of this year when details of a series of releases for labels such as Days of Being Wild, Needwant and Kitsune surfaced, all due to drop over the summer months.
Our favourite or which saw daylight last month digitally and was later followed this week by the limited 12″ pressing.
Kiwi was up alongside Duke Dumont, Leon Vynehall and the Transmission Collective on the Sunset Terrace for a two hour journey through disco, rare groove, some 80s funk, italo-disco and techno. He was kind enough to record the set, and you can listen and download the whole mix below. Kiwi hasn’t given a track list for this one, but he has assured us if there’s one track in particular that you’re really keen to get hold of, then just drop a comment and he’ll happily oblige.
