Something / Frills
Following performances at Ministry of Sound, Stealth in Nottingham and Soundwave Festival in Croatia, as well as an upcoming show this month for Dublin’s Button Factory, it’s fair to say 2014 has already been a busy year for emerging Derby based producer Josh Mortimer, aka MORRT. However, he’s not quite finished, yet…
Hot on the heels of his first official single Be There for Bambusa back in July and the hugely acclaimed Want U for Nu Wave in September, we are very pleased to announce his debut release for Fat! with two, no nonsense, rousing house jams.
Glaring hints of Josh’s love for the soulful charms in US Garage and early 90s House can be heard in up tempo opener Something, alongside a subtle, yet vivid sax pad that really brings the track to life.
Second track Frills on the other hand, teases with its soothing chords and jingling highs, until dashing drums and bright, booming bass take control of an infectious groove that only leaves you yearning for more.
