Kid606 – ‘Mr Wobble’s Nightmare’ (MediaFire)

They say you should never touch a classic. So Kid606 didn’t, he came up with this mentalist modern electro/bassline re-telling of ‘Mr Kirk’s Nightmare’ instead.

When 4 Hero dropped ‘Mr Kirk’s Nightmare’ in 1990, it’s dark opening story fed off the widespread paranoia surrounding rave and drug taking.

Having proved through our own lab-rat like like existence that the former at least never caused anyone that much harm, Kid606 uses the track for an update on the new danger facing clubbers today… cannibalistic rave zombies. Obviously.

As well as another two great original Kid606 tracks, the EP features some awes0me remixes from Dolby Anol, Acid Jacks and three of our current favourites, Mikix the Cat, Kanji Kinetic and The Squire of Gothos, who we’ve discovered are named after an episode of Star Trek.
