Chicago party starter Chrissy Murderbot has a reputation as a little bit of a genre spanning genius, releasing an awesome album on Planet Mu last year, his top drawer Friendship EP earlier this year, plus his incredible year of mixtapes, where he made a new mixtape every week for a whole year, celebrating a different genre with each one.
His latest project sees him releasing under a new moniker – Chris E. Pants. The first track ‘Doggy Style’ is not as provocative as it sounds, and is actually a tribute to Chrissy’s pet dog, Bubbles, featuring crisp percussion, a sleazy bassline and some fantastic arpeggiated synths and piano riffs. On the other side ‘Pass it Around’ takes things even funkier with a great vocal sample, some lovely strings and a wandering groove of a bassline.
The video for ‘Doggy Style’ has just premiered through Vice, and features a six year old music industry insider who has recently stepped into the spotlight aka Bubbles the dog. Check it out below!
