DJ Woody vs The Body Snatchers – Mixtape Vol 1 clip

The Body Snatchers sent us this 30 minute clip from a mix album they’ve just released with turntablist DJ Woody who cuts and scratches up their back catalogue alongside a load of freestyles from top UK/US rappers. If you like it, you can buy the full release here.

As you can see in the clip above, Woody has some skills with his signature apparently being the Woodpecker Scratch, possibly the trick he ends his set with. Check the bit when he’s using the needles from two turntable on one record… ridiculous.

I hate sounding like Simon Cowell on Britain’s Got Talent last night (though it’s better than looking like him) but after hearing so many mediocre DJs playing the same tunes they’ve downloaded off the same blogs, it’s refreshing to be reminded that some people can do things with turntables that leave you genuinely wondering WTF… Go home, try it, see how easy Woody makes it look.

If there’s any justice in the world, one of them will beat Susan Boyle – a middle-aged women who, despite not being very attractive can, would you believe it, sing OK, but is still like every other delluded fame-obsessed entrant in that she desperately needs the approval of the nation to validate her existance.
