Chew The Fat! 12th Birthday

Reaching the ripe old age of 12 is something of an achievement in the fickle world of clubland – for many it’s time to pick up the clubbing pension and head off to Somerset to open a Gastropub. Thankfully not so for Chew The Fat! who are celebrating their 12th Birthday at new home The Arches on Friday October 9th.

Back in March Herve turned the main room into a veritable mosh pit – so it seemed only fair to invite him back for a re-run, this time with partner in crime Trevor Loveys. The two will be headlining together as Speaker Junk, their original production moniker, and with a new Speaker Junk LP about to drop you can expect plenty of new material to be roadtested. This will be their first back-to-back DJ set in London together for 2 years, and they’ll be firing off Electro, Fidget House, Dubstep and Drum & Bass like there’s no tomorrow.

Joining Speaker Junk in the main room will be one of our favourite house producers Riva Starr, Reclaim the Dancefloor (Ibiza Rocks) resident and man of the moment Doorly, Aquasky and The Living Graham Bond. The 12th Birthday also marks the long awaited return of Fat! founder Paul ‘Trouble’ Arnold to the decks. Good times!

Room 2 is hosted by mighty Urban Nerds crew. Their parties always manage to combine some of the dirtiest, grimiest sounds with a proper party atmosphere. No heads down, foot shuffling for these lot – either get involved or get out! The line up doesn’t hold back - with Marcus Nasty, Spyro (Rinse.FM), Rattus Rattus, Klose One, Chrome Kids and Ordio Kid.

Room 3 is hosted by Keyboard Masher – a lovely bunch of bloggers with a penchant for obscure disco re-edits, whose mission is life is to hunt out rare little musical gems and share them with the world. As you can imagine, they have a rather good music collection and like to throw parties – so we thought we’d invite them along to share their wares.
