Chew Fu will be familiar to anyone who was a regular to Psalm Out Sounds‘ weekly outpouring of re-edits in their Remix Sundays – we thought we’d pay tribute, now it’s sadly departed, with a load of his new tracks.

Warping everyone from Frank Sinatra to Kanye West to suit his energetic electro/club sound, Chew has transported some unusual artists to the middle of the dancefloor.

These four newbies continue that tradition, taking in rock (the so-now Kings of Leon and the so-reminds-me-of-being-at-school-and-having-long-hair Soundgarden) and RnB (JT getting jiggy with Ciara, and the Japs Eye Pees).

If you like these, go buy his new remix of Doug E Fresh, who released classic beat-box track, The Show, back in the day with our favourite smooth-voiced, British born, eye-patch wearing rapper, Slick Rick.

And while we’re on him, check the video to Rick’s ‘Behind Bars’, the track he recorded with Warren G while in prison for attempted murder, something we’ve always found hard to comprehend considering he used to look like an extra from The Pirates of the Carribean. You have to respect that from someone who lived in The Bronx. And made hip-hop before it became, by and large, a commercial piece of shit.
