Soundspecies – ‘Can We Call It Love?’
Soundspecies – ‘Can We Call It Love?’ (MediaFire)
Something a bit mellower than usual as it’s bank holiday Monday and you probably need to get that sore head ready for work againt tomorrow… Thanks to 8Bitch for dropping us this track from Soundspecies ahead of their album launch on Friday.
Sound Species was formed by brothers Henry and Olly Keen, who where drawn to creating sounds and melodies at an early age. Fast forward a few years and various journeys through DJ culture, electronic music, Herbie Hancocks back catalogue and a slew of other talented musicians and the Soundspecies band was born.
Their forthcoming album boasts a variety of talented guest spots from Foreign Beggars, 2Tall, Ventriloquist, Black Spade and Deborah Jordan amongst others. And with early radio support from Radio One’s Mary Anne Hobbs, Benji B and Gilles Peterson, and spins from the likes of Simbad and Jazzanova, Soundspecies look set to turn more heads.
Their album launch party takes place at Plastic People on April 17th.
In the meantime ‘Can we call it love’ perfectly showcases their skills and features the lovely Ahu (Dolly), famous for her Flying Lotus, Madlib and Samyam collabs.
